Review of Big Hook Rag Crochet
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review. This review is my opinion of the book. *
I should start by saying how excited I was to review this book. Some of you may have seen pictures of my big hook on Instagram. When my friend Dedri Uys mentioned that she had a new book coming out that had to do with big crochet I knew that I would definitely be interested. Although I didn’t use my really big hook to try out a project, it really satisfied my need to crochet something with a larger than “normal” hook.
My first impression of the book was that it was super crisp and clean looking. (That look it totally in now.) As I looked through the book I saw that there were 25 patterns inside written by 15 different designers. I think that is totally awesome! I really loved the freedom of the patterns. The book is very structured, but it gave me the feeling of freedom. I felt very crafty trying out the Loofah Pattern by Karen Dankert.
Here is the one from the book.
This is the one I made.
I really liked this book. I mean it really gave me extra information that I wasn’t expecting. There is a whole section on how to make fabric yarn. Even if you have experience with it, this book may have some tips that can help you.
This Balloon Rug is my favorite pattern from the book. The pattern was written by Morgan Roberts.
