While I was at a craft fair not to long ago, I started a scarf. It was so think and comfy. It took the whole weekend to finish. It was made from Hometown USA and it was about 16 inches wide and 7 foot long. Once I got it home I tried it on and realized that scarfs are sooo not my style. I ended up scrapping it for this lovely cowl. I called it the 30 Minute Comfy Cowl. I realize now that it takes a little longer for most people to crochet. So now I am trying to come up with another name for it. Do you have any suggestions? So far the only suggestion I received is 1 hour and 57 minute Cowl hahaha. I don’t think that will work too well. I keep trying to think of a name and I can’t think of anything! So now it is up to you. I am asking you to make it and let me know what you think of it. I love feedback! Also suggest a name!

I agree with NOT 30 min cowl! That is unless you’re a machine! lol
Stacey says
Hahaha! How many minutes did it take you to make it?

Very pretty!
I would suggest ‘Crochet Waves Cowl’ (?) for a re-name.

How about “Comfy Cowl – weekend project” I crochet fast and obviously so do you. I think most people could finish this in a weekend. Thanks for the pattern, Debbie

I can picture this a a lovely blue shade, and it reminds me of the gentle waves of an ocean…I’d call it “Gentles Waves Cowl” 😉

How about the “all buttoned up” cowl, or the “Wavy sands” cowl.
Stephanie C says
How about the “sandy waves” cowl, or the “Buttoned up” cowl. I also loved the “However long it take” suggestion, haha.

I made this in an afternoon. I decided not to use the buttons, and instead sewed the two ends together. I also used some handspun wool I have had for several years. It worked up great! Thanks for the pattern.
I am blogging about it on my website. I will post my link here when I am done, and will link back to you.
Coraline Jones says
I would suggest “small wave cowl”..? At least something about the ‘wavy’ thing, which seems to have come to everybody elses head as well.. I’m not sure if I’m able to use this english instruction, but will save it to have a look. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

I don’t know about the name, but this is just what I was looking for! A pretty cowl pattern using Hometown! I bought bunches of it to make cowls for my 4th grade girls for Christmas this year and this is perfect! Even if it takes me two hours each it’s perfect! LOL! Maybe ‘perfect cowl’ 🙂

“Lacey Collar Cowl” or “Easy Lacey Collar Cowl” would be my suggestion. Very nice piece.
Maam says

Denise says
Love it, can’t wait to make one.
Sharon says
pretty curve cowl sounds good to me
Susan says
I agree with Sharon but I also think it is elegantly simple!

Very pretty cowl! This stitch reminds me of the feather and fan knit stitch. I think I will adapt it for a crochet bracelet but will use it for a cowl at some time!
Mary says
First thing I noticed was what appeared to me to be”Beautiful Waves”. So I would suggest the name be reminesent of the waves. I liked that someone thought of the blue color of the ocean and waves. My vote is the waves.

Waves of Warmth is a pretty name for a pretty pattern
susan hiles says
I would call it the NuWave Cowl.
Christi says
It seems that many like the word “waves” to go into a new name for this pattern. Why not combine that with the yarn used and call it the “Hometown Waves Cowl”? This is a gorgeous pattern. I stumbled onto it completely by accident as I was directed to your page from Ravelry. Best wishes!

I was thrilled to find this pattern! I have issues with sun / daylight and expect to wear it INSIDE my home to keep my neck covered, it’s a free pattern, isn’t it? It’s a beauty, you are very talented! I joined your Facebook page too. Thanks 🙂

If I don’t have access to thick or chunky yarn, would two strands of regular worsted weight yarn work?
Stacey says
Yes, that would work fine.
Kate says
