Candy Puffs Beanie
This is a wonderful little hat with lots of stretch. It is both quick and easy to work up. It requires Caron Simply Soft and a size M 9.0mm hook. I have included a video of how to complete the crossed cluster stitch. Also I am going to be adding the flower patterns shown in the pictures. Sorry it took so long.
Here is a video to help with the stitches. You should probably mute your speakers....

Adorable! I'll have to try this.
ReplyDeleteThis is very cute,Thanks for sharing!!!!

Gosh, this is a beautiful hat!! And I love that you put up patterns for several different sizes. I love the texture. Thanks for sharing at Hookin On Hump Day!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! Thanks for sharing. Are the patterns for the flowers on a different page?
ReplyDeleteThey are just little flowers I made. I can add a pattern for those if you like. Ill post them tonight probably around 12 or 1 am cst
ReplyDeleteOh yes Nicole! Thank you so much!
DeleteOkay.. I am soo sorry. I fell asleep early. Baby hulk and chunk must have tired me out. I will post these today along with a few new patterns.
DeleteCan you please email the link to the flower pattern Rileycnk67@yahoo.com

Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese hats are so pretty. I was wondering though-would it be okay if I made some for my local craft show? Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead and use it! Just don't claim my pattern as your own :)
ReplyDeletei am having difficulty figuring out how to cluster stitch into the previously skipped stitch. Im not sure if i am doing it right. can you possibly post a video of how this is done?
ReplyDeleteI can't right now, but I can later.
ReplyDeleteWhen you make the stitch it will look kind of like you are crocheting around the first cluster stitch.
To the front of the stich, or the back of the stitch?
DeleteLemme see if I can make a video for you really quick. Hold on.
DeleteThank you! I've been teaching myself to crochet through youtube videos and when I couldnt find a video how to exactly do this, I felt a little scared! (lol)
DeleteOkay i had to get the kids into bed. My video is a little embarrassing, but i am adding it now. It probably makes me sound like I am twelve lol.
DeleteYour video was wonderful! thanks for all your help today :)
DeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteI was wondering where I can watch the video. Having trouble figuring out how to do the crossed clusters. Thanks Jennifer
DeleteI think I just responded to you, but I wanted to make sure you saw the reply. The video is at the bottom of the post. If you need more help feel free to email me.
Deleteam i supposed to use two balls of yarn at one time?
ReplyDeleteYou can use 2 balls or else pull from both ends of your skein.
ReplyDeleteLove this hat its so cute thank you for sharing your pattern!!
ReplyDeleteLove this and can't wait to try it! Would you mind if I shared a link to this post on my blog??
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!

I just got done making this hat...it was so much fun!!! Thank you for posting this and your instructions were great. Now I can't wait for my daughter to wake up so I can show her her new hat. :)
ReplyDeleteThis might be a dumb question, but how do you use two strands of yarn wen crocheting? Is there a way to just use a thicker yarn? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI either pull from both ends or else use two skeins. You can try using a bulky yarn. I'm not sure if it will look the same, but I am sure it would be pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the pattern! Love the hat, and I really appreciate the instructions for all sizes! Do you have a pattern for the flower?
ReplyDeleteOkay.. I am soo behind on posting my other patterns. I will sit down and add them soon. These craft fairs have been keeping me busy.
DeleteI saw that you used Caron Simply Soft but I was wondering what the color was called that you used in the picture with two hats? The closest I could find on line was a "melon" color????
ReplyDeleteThe first one is called Persimmon and the second is Off White. I love their off white.
DeleteHi, Wondering if you have posted the pattern for the flowers that are on this hat. If so Please tell me where to find them. Thanks so much, Cant wait to get started. This will be nice christmas gifts for my granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteJust looking for the cute flower pattern too :) Love this hat!! Can't wait to try it out. Thank you!
ReplyDeletei am looking for flower pattern also.
DeleteThis hat is super cute! I would love the flower patterns. Am I missing them somewhere? I've looked all over the blog. Also, I cannot seem to find that hot pink color you used for the flower on the off white hat as I've searched through all the caron yarn colors online. Did you use a different yarn? I'd like to know so I can match the yarn types so they are similar. Finally, the size for 2-8, I plan to make this for a 3-year old, is it going to be really loose? Do you have advice to make it snug for her? She's very active and I don't want such a cute hat falling off and getting lost at the park. Thanks so much for your help and for sharing a darling pattern, I've searched for hours. So glad to have found one.
Deletethank you so much for this awesome pattern. It came out perfect on my first try. I made one for my 4 month old little girl & I imagine the 6 yr old will want one when she sees it too lol.
ReplyDeleteWould like to know if you have to use double strands of yarn and where is the pattern for the flower. The baby yarn came out lovely with the double strand thank you
ReplyDeleteI used just one strand of yarn the first time I made it. It turned out well. It's just not as thick. Using 2 strands really is a nice touch.
Deleteturned out super cute! Thanks so much for the pattern! :D
ReplyDeleteI just finished this hat. I think I've got the hang of the cluster stitches, but it seems that my hat is a LOT wider than yours. yours looks like a nice even width from the first row of clusters all through the last row. I counted, and there's the same number of clusters in each row...how did I get wider and wider? Any advice?
ReplyDeleteOk...so I hadn't watched your video until just now. I was NOT doing the cluster stitch correctly. I'll bet that's the problem somehow. I'll try another one.
DeleteOh really? Do you have a picture?
DeleteI am so dissapointed as I cannot get it to copy and paste...I have never had trouble before...Is there any other way I can get this pattern?
ReplyDeleteRegards Janette
It is ok...I wrote it out...beautiful pattern...Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteRegards Janette
Hi Stacey!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your hats and your patterns! If you ever want to donate one or two hats to charity please visit my FB page. www.facebook/hooksoflove
I have given it a try twice - 2-8 yr old- with different hooks - and my hat still comes out small. Any suggestions? Thank you
ReplyDeleteWhat size hook are you using?
DeleteWhere can I view your video on this hat.I am having trouble with the crossed clusters. Thanks Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThe video is at the bottom of the post. Right now I only have a video of how to do the stitches not the whole hat. I hope it works for you!!
DeleteOk Thanks. I have a question about the pattern. For Adult the increase ends at 36 but I don't want it slouchy. Isn't this going to make it too small for a small adult? Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks Jennifer
DeleteYour using an M hook? My largest is a K. Will that work?
ReplyDeleteIs the flower pattern available anywhere yet?
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern! I made it for all of my coworkers in different colors and they raved about them! I used the same stitch to make scarfs ;) Merry Christmas & Happy Crocheting!
ReplyDeleteI saw this question but not an answer to it: if I've got an L hook (i've also got an N hook, but not an M hook:)) will that work??
ReplyDeleteEither one should work. You will probably have to adjust the pattern to make sure it works for the size you want.
DeleteFor some reason mine starts to flare out when i start to do the sc, am I doing something wrong? I've watched the video and I think i'm doing it right...
ReplyDeleteThe biggest hook I have is a I/9 5.50MM. I was trying to do the 12 month size but it looked like a preemie hat. What should I do to make it bigger?
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing...my hat flares out at the bottom where the sc go. What did I do incorrectly?
ReplyDeleteI don't think you did anything incorrectly. You may have a slightly different tension than me.
DeleteIs it possible to be able to print these directions?
ReplyDeleteThis hat is really, really cute, but I absolutely love the flowers. Are they posted somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteHow do I print off this pattern? I am unable to from the website. I would love to make these cute caps.
ReplyDeleteJust made this hat! Super cute and easy. This is only the second hat I've ever made, so if I can do it, anyone can. Thank you for the fantastic pattern. The stitch count at the end of each row really helped me keep my seam straight. Now I just need the flowers to finish it off. Pretty please post those patterns too! :)
ReplyDeleteHow may I get a copy of this pattern?
ReplyDeleteLove this! It worked up super fast. I was also looking for the flower pattern. Is it available anywhere?
ReplyDeleteI love this hat. It is my new favorite to make. Any chance of posting the pattern for the flower, all the ones I have been able to find so far have not been as cute as the one you made. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteWhere is the video? It doesn't seem to be attached? Mid there somewhere else I can find it? Maybe you tube?
ReplyDeleteWhere is the video? It doesn't seem to be attached. Can I find it somewhere else? Maybe you tube?
ReplyDeleteIs the video coming ever soon?
ReplyDeleteThe video is at the bottom of the post. Right now I only have a video of how to do the stitches not the whole hat.
DeleteCan you tell me how much yarn total I will need for this hat in adult size please? Thank you, and thank you for sharing the pattern.
ReplyDeleteHi, Stacey! I am desperate for your flower pattern. I really like both of them. Is it possible you could email or post the flower patterns? The hat just isn't complete without them! I'd appreciate it! Thank you! dsottos@me.com
ReplyDeleteI forgot to ask....do you use two strands throughout, or are the bottom sc's single strand?
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these beautiful patterns.Just wondering if I can sell the hat made by your pattern?Thank you
ReplyDeleteI have 6month old great grdaughters , I would love to crochet little shoes for them but I cannot find the pattern .
